How to use an index

Differentiated text and activities

This unit consists of three differentiated versions of the same text plus a page of related activities. The text is an example of an index page from a book about guinea pigs. Teachers might choose to use this text as an example of informative writing or as a way to improve research skills. The activity page includes comprehension questions about the structure and content of the text as well as evaluative questions that can lead onto higher order thinking discussions. Selected answers are provided.
