Debating: Lesson plan 7

Each lesson plan in this 'Debates' series includes learning outcomes, success criteria, pre-lesson preparation notes, resources and a step-by-step learning sequence. In this lesson students will put their debating skills to use in a live debate! After an activity to get the class warmed up, students will form teams and a debate to argue in front of the classroom, based on the topic card handed to them. The lesson concludes with time for students to evaluate their debating and think of improvements for future debates. The e-unit also provides a homework task for students to take home.
