Quotation marks

Short story + language tasks

This unit consists of a text about a boy who collects ideas for a story from the things he overhears in the street and worksheets focussed on understanding quotation marks. The first worksheet askes students to identify quotation marks in an excerpt of the text, then add them to a second passage. Worksheet two focuses on using other punctuation with quotation marks and Worksheet three is all about quoting phrases from someone else in our sentences. The final task in this unit requires students to show their understanding of using quotation marks to make specific words or phrases stand out.
