Speeches: Lesson plan 4

Each lesson plan in this 'Speeches' series includes learning outcomes, success criteria, pre-lesson preparation notes, resources and a step-by-step learning sequence. In this lesson plan students will learn to use physical and verbal humour in their speeches. After the teacher introduces these speech techniques to the classroom, students will use a template speech practice incorporating humour into their own presentations both with a partner and in front of the class. The lesson concludes with time to reflect on learning and progress. Students are also given a speech card topic to design a persuasive speech in their own time.
