Debating: Lesson plan 5

Each lesson plan in this 'Debates' series includes learning outcomes, success criteria, pre-lesson preparation notes, resources and a step-by-step learning sequence. Packed with example templates and discussion points for the teacher, students will learn how to defend their arguments with a rebuttal throughout the course of this lesson. A group exercise gives students the opportunity to practice writing arguments and counter-arguments, and the lesson concludes with time for students to discuss what they learned over the lesson.
