Reciting poetry: Lesson plan 2

Each lesson plan in this 'Poems' unit includes learning outcomes, success criteria, pre-lesson preparation notes, resources and a step-by-step learning sequence. In this lesson students will learn to effectively enhance their poetry recital by using gestures and props. After an activity to get warmed up, the teacher will model using gestures and props. The lesson provides a list of poems for students to recite and perform in pairs, remembering to incorporate gestures and props into their performance. The lesson concludes with time for students to reflect on their learning, and a homework exercise is provided for students to work on at home.
